Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disease

For more than five decades, the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases has been changing the face of cancer and blood diseases through innovative clinical and research programs, academic excellence and global leadership. Children's Hospital Los Angeles is the nation’s largest pediatric hematology/oncology program and one of the two largest pediatric cancer centers.

Each day, they take on the most complex conditions.  Cases that may seem rare or complicated to staff at other hospitals are routinely treated here.  As a result, families come to Children's Hospital Los Angeles from all over Southern California, the U.S. and the world.  The Center sees more than 1,100 newly diagnosed patients each year. Together, the Day Hospital, Clinic and Urgent Care experience some 25,000 outpatient visits annually.

Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in children between ages one to 14 in the United States.  This reality fuels their endeavors.  As the leading referral center in the West for the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of childhood cancers, they are working hard to prepare children for life as young adults.

The hematology - oncology division provides a full range of clinical services, including diagnosis and therapy for infants, children, and adolescent patients with cancer and blood disease.

Physicians provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the initial diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of children with cancer. Consultation services are available to physicians involved in day-to-day management of such patients.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles is located at 4650 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA  90027, on the corner of Sunset & Vermont in Hollywood, CA. www.chla.org
